Gathering Veggie Oil

I am looking to buy a diesel truck so i can convert it to a veggie truck but before I even start looking for a car I want to know how likely it will be that I can actually get the veggie oil. Across the internet there have been reports of people who establish a relationship with local restaurants and get their oil for free. This seems way too good to be true. What's the catch? Is there anyone around Sonoma County that does this?

Hi - We have no problem getting vendors to leave lockable oil recycling drums at our kitchen where its their
responsibility to pickup the oil.
