Reading this I wondered what great projects we can launch in our area just supported by the weight of small private contributions.

Arizona Urges Donors to Build an Anti-Immigration Fence

Illegal immigrants, drug dealers, and terrorists. Preventing those people from getting into the United States is the the focus of a new $50-million fund-raising campaign that Arizona started on Wednesday.

Contributions from individuals and corporations will pay for a new fence along more than 1,300 miles of Arizona’s border with Mexico.

The state’s “Build the Border Fence” campaign was started “because the federal government won’t [build the fence] and because the state doesn’t have the money to do it,” said Steve Smith, a Republican state senator, in an interview with the Associated Press. Mr. Smith sponsored a new law, enacted Wednesday, that authorizes the new fund-raising effort.

The law authorized a new Web site to accept donations and a committee to oversee the funds.

In a televised interview you can watch below, Mr. Smith said that support for the idea of raising private money for the new fence among businesses and individuals “has been unbelievable.”

While the approach to keeping immigrants and others out of the United States draws much opposition, Mr. Smith said he that he thought many Americans, even those outside Arizona, would be motivated to give because “Arizona is the big gateway, and the rest of the country is there for the taking. This is an American problem, not just an Arizona problem.”

Arizona residents can deduct donations to the new campaign from their state taxes, but state officials stopped short of telling donors that they can also take a charitable deduction on their federal income taxes.

“The state of Arizona provides no opinion as to whether donations … are deductible for federal income-tax purposes,” the campaign Web site says. To answer that question, it advises, “Consult a tax professional.”

Mr. Smith says he was inspired to sponsor the Arizona fence-building drive by another fund-raising campaign started a year ago to help the state defend its controversial immigration-enforcement law. That law require immigrants to carry legal documents at all times and allow police to detain anyone they think is in the United States illegally.

In the time since a federal court struck down parts of that law, a defense fund created by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has collected more than $3-million.

Where do I begin? First, let's not take example from xenophobic racist bigoted misguided ignorant fools in Arizona. Second, US (that's us) citizens are being robbed everyday by banks, corporations, and taxes (major portion of Federal taxes pay for military invasions and occupations of other peoples lands, and murder -- bombs and bullets are expensive).

Theoretically, taxes are paid to provide infrastructure and security for a society. But NO!, With the high cost of education, everyday necessities, layoffs and high unemployment, we should reach in our empty pockets and fork-up for better schools, transportation, "special projects," etc.?!

What keeps people in the US (that's us) from standing up to injustice as people are doing all over the globe?! Are US citizens (us) like the frog slowly simmering in water coming to a boil?! Are people in the US (us) in denial? Is it too inconvenient to look at the world beyond the US fantasy-fun-bubble, to see what is going on and take responsibility for our actions and inactions?

That's right. And the US Constitution contains several MANDATES for what is to be done with that tax money. Among those is to protect each and every State against "invasion" (Article IV, Section 4). Clearly, those political dirtbags who swear to uphold, obey and defend the Constitution must first and foremost devote their tax takings to the duties assigned them.

Arizona, faced with a lawless Federal Government that has failed in its delegated duty, is upholding the Constitution and attempting to defend itself against an invasion so hostile and dangerous that Obama felt obligated to post signs warning Americans to keep off certain areas of US soil - for fear of their lives. Yet, the current Administration is using its power to try to thwart Arizona's defensive effort. Worse, the Administration ordered federal background check agencies to ensure gun sales to buyers for the Mexican cartels, resulting in deaths of more Americans. Why is the Obama Administration arming our nation's enemies while fighting to keep the border open for them to enter this country? WTF?

When the Federal government fails in its delegated duties, the State government fails in its delegated duties (and is under attack by the Feds for trying), then the Sovereign Citizens, who delegate those duties, must ensure the job gets done.

Arizona is defending America from a demonstrably hostile invasion force. Defense against invasion is a matter of national survival.
