Hello All,

Time to welcome Supervisor Carrillo back to my Neighborhood Representatives Meeting. The date is Wednesday, August 10, 6:30 - 8:00pm at the Library Forum Room. One of the most important topics we will discuss with Efren is the Water Agency's study to see if it will work for Sonoma County to provide our own power like Marin County has done. Becoming our own power provider is called Community Choice Aggregation, and this discussion is very timely to learn what this means for Sonoma County.

I have been working on the Sebastopol Entrepreneurs Project (SEP) for two years, and our volunteer committee has accomplished our original goals: offering business education classes, advising local entrepreneurs about their business plans and operation, and opening a SEP office. If you have a business, or want to start one, or you are working at home and need a break from the isolation, come take advantage of the services we offer at the SEP office. We have work, conference and meeting space equipped with copy, scan, print, and fax services - and most importantly we have coffee. Bring your laptop and your cell phone and come to work. We're located at 500 North Main in the offices of the Methodist Church across from Safeway. For questions, call me at 829-0669.

It is difficult to drive, bike or walk through town without finding construction zones. This is the Street Smart program which will improve our crosswalks and make the city safer for pedestrians. Please be patient, and soon we will see some good results.

Governor Brown signed the bill to eliminate redevelopment funding. This is not good news for funding several projects the city has approved such as the Skate Park expansion and the Ives Park renovation. It will be a difficult time financially for cities for the foreseeable future. Hopefully we can find other opportunities for revenue in Sebastopol. We need to attract new business to the community and increase our sales tax revenues. Keep buying and dining locally - that means a lot to the city's revenues.

Hope to see you on August 10. Please contact me if you have any questions or issues you want to discuss.

Kathleen
