Dear Petaluma,

I send my deepest felt condolences. Your new housing (project) overlooking the freeway and river is a travesty.
The style is that of Santa Clarita, Saugus and Canyon Country. Once beautiful, now ruined.
Maybe someone out there can make me feel better. Is there a good side to this that I don't know about?

The worst thing is that if the Dutra asphalt plant actually gets constructed (just a hop across the freeway from Quarry Heights) all the people in those clean, shiny new homes will be sucking in Dutra's noxious, toxic emissions.

Seriously indeed. First time I saw that sign saying "Quarry Heights" I couldn't believe my eyes. What a screwed up name. The word "quarry" does not, to me anyways, conjure up a warm fuzzy feeling akin to the word "home". Bleak, dreary, and may I say even ugly are the images I have of huge rumbling gravel trucks, dusty dirty air, noise - all near a river that's polluted. Sorry to say I have not seen a "good side" to this either... buh!
