Hi, I am a Fairfax resident currently looking to sign up 80 participants that are willing to be part of my doctoral research study on abdominal self-massage for the treatment of mild to severe constipation.
Participants will receive:
- four weekly classes offered in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on">Fairfax</st1:City>, <st1:City w:st="on">Oakland</st1:City>, and possibly <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">San Francisco</st1:City></st1:place> - )
(Does anyone know of an inexpensive or free venue where I can teach in SF?)
- a workbook explaining the massage protocol in detail
- a guided massage protocol on CD or in MP3 format, depending on preference
Participants will be asked to commit to daily abdominal self-massage for the duration of four weeks (15 minutes/day), attend four 90-minute classes in abdominal self-massage, keep a small daily log (2 min/day), and complete four sets of outcome measures. Classes will be held in August (group one) and November (group 2).
Participation is free of charge.
I am readily available to answer any questions you might have by phone (415-419-3507) or email.
Thank you so much.
Warmly,
Silke Greiner
