I don't know why anyone wouldn't support this if you aren't getting wined and dined by lobbyists...
THIS should not be a partisan issue...I hope citizens from whatever political persuasion will call their Reps. to support Elizabeth Warren and the Bureau she is trying to create.

From Public Citizen:
Elizabeth Warren has her work cut out for her.
She’s spearheading the creation of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — the agency designed to crack down on unfair, deceptive practices in financial products like mortgages, student loans and credit cards.
But the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is under attack.
Tell your representative to oppose attempts to undermine the new consumer bureau. (https://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=yMn1Nf9oSfLH2U6wvlqjxFmojMR4R%2B1b)
On the Daily Show last week, Warren told Jon Stewart* that reform opponents were attempting to “stick a knife in the ribs” of the new consumer agency. She explained:
“Right now there are bills pending in Congress to delay the agency, to defund the agency, to defang the agency and ... to kill the agency outright before it is able to take one step on behalf of middle class families.”
House Republicans are scheming with Wall Street lobbyists to push bills that will virtually guarantee that the bureau would be a weak, ineffective agency.
A big reason why we have suffered through the financial crisis and Great Recession is that banking agencies were looking out for short-term profits at big banks — not looking out for consumers, investors or economic stability.
We need a strong Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to crack down on abuses and protect borrowers.
