:hello:

I've started with an avocado seed (I think it is Hass) and now, three years later, I have a growing small avocado tree, it stands about 2-3 feet high and it's in a 5 gallon pot. It needs to go in the ground soon, so it will continue to grow and bear fruit. I know it takes around 10 years for it to bear fruit, but then you can have free avocados ! It needs good soil, a deep hole, at least 3 feet deep to accomodate the roots, some protection from heavy frost (it has been outside for at least 2 years with frosts) water and love , to help it grow! In return, you will have the pleasure to see the tree with the beautiful leaves grow and have free avocados in some years down the road. The trees can grow tall, about as tall as a magnolia tree. There is one avocado tree in my neighborhood and it provides great shade and fruit, and it was recently pruned, so it needs some care.

I live in Santa Rosa, close to Franklin Park, the pot is not very heavy and I think it can fit behind a front seat of a car without a problem. Send me an email if you are interested, so we can arrange for a pick-up time. I can also help dig the hole and plant it, if you need help. I have a spade and a fork, but I don't have a car.

I am good with plants and I love growing them, but sometimes I don't have the place to plant them in the ground, but I love when others do and I know these plants are in good hands :Yinyangv:
