Greetings,

The County will auction a 2.85 acre horse pasture, on Hwy 116 in Graton, across the street from Harmony Farms, APN 130-180-065. Please help bring a good steward to this to out-bid Hobbs Winery.

For the 3rd time Hobbs will take another section of John Jenkel's property unless you take action. The auction will be April 21st, 10 am inside the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office in Santa Rosa

2796 Ventura Avenue
Santa Rosa, CA 95403
(707) 565-2511

They have a false judgement of around $350,000 and Hobbs has taken 2, nearly 5 acre lots with homes; one for $50,000 and another for $10,000. Both could have gone for at least 1 million each.

Thank you!,

Colleen Fernald

Did he really protest at a soldier's funeral ?

Yes, he did Gene. Along with some of the people he pays to protest with/for him.

One question I have, and haven't seen answered in the recent news or the discussion here, is how many total acres he owns.

I've read John's political broadsides. I've followed his "progress" since about 2001. I've been in his presence a few times.

I'm not a qualified professional, but it seems to me he has long been in need of professional counseling. And his conflicts with his neighbor strike me as his own doing.

But what do I know? I don't rent on his property, hang out with him, or get paid to picket Lynn Woolsey's office for not stopping the wars. Even though she's possibly one of the most anti-war elected representatives in Congress!?

if an individual feels government is handing them a bad deal, what do they do?

this man, Jenkel, speaks up.

personally, it is not my style - but he has a right to speak. The allegation by one of the supervisors that she "feels threatened" is an effort to silence his complaints. while i will say the complaints do not follow a well-defined path of logic (in my humble opinion) Jenkel has the right to speak.

again, in my humble opinion, the "powers that be" = the powers with unlimited financial means, do not have the right to move along with privitized land-taking efforts.

It is a game plan that works: cause a problem with your neighbor, sue him, get a judgment, force him to sell his property, or force him to sell it to pay you.

There will be much, much, much more of this type of forceable, organized land taking in the years to come.

What will you do when the efforts are directed at you? at your home? at your beloved land?

The land, worth at least $96,000 according to Paul Payne, was auctioned off to Paul Hobbs Winery for a mere $1000. I got there at 9 minutes after 10 and they were gone; I do not believe any other bidders showed up.

I will address the funeral "protest" later.

Anyone else want to be a witness to this abuse by the Sonoma County Superior Court and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department; please be in courtroom 7 today at 4 pm for the rest of the dead horse case.

Thank you!

May peace and justice prevail for us ALL!!!

As with most posts/stories, there is a whole lot more to this one that could possibly be depicted in these posts here.
Would be nice, but probably wont happen - simply because both sides won't respond and I can assure you, I would not either.

Will be interested to see your comments on the funeral protest, Colleen. That was an outrage.

Did he really protest at a soldier's funeral ?

It's as though he should simply sell off his farm and join the Westborough Baptist Church group.

Here is a PD article about the auction of Jenkel's land. I had a friend who went at 10 am on 4/21/11, but the land had already been sold for $1000. She said that it had been a "closed" auction, implying it was a backroom deal, and not a public auction. It does not seem that due process was served. On the other hand, I don't think the County is stupid, and that they used a technicality to auction Jenkel's land at a fraction of it's true value, perhaps angry at all the hassle Jenkel has caused them over the years. Does anyone have more information?

Jenkel pasture auctioned for fraction of value
John Jenkel, an antiwar activist and conspiracy theorist, on Thursday lost a valuable portion of his Sebastopol ranch in a forced auction. The price: $1,000.

this entire situation is very disturbing.

The court system is supposed to be separate from the County system (courts are State of California). Sheriff's Dept. is County. They appear to be colluding.

An investigation - California State Attorney General - may be warranted.

This "sale" appears to be an unjust enrichment to Hobbs. The land has now been leveled and trees removed. If this started out as water damage/destruction to trees, don't think Hobbs has suffered, because the tree removal has continued. Soon there will be grapes in the bare dirt.

At the very least, we can all boycott Hobbs = in all aspects.

The "sales" (aka thefts) perhaps can all be reversed.

I don't think he should join the Westborough Baptist Church group, I think he should crawl in a hole and die ! Anyone who would protest in front of a grieving mother and family is not part of my community. I can't think of anything else that is so without compassion. Even at the height of the Vietnam protests no one would have committed such a despicable act. The man should seek professional help or be committed he is a fanatic, anti social criminal. During the Vietnam War riots were started, the police and the system were attacked the SLA and the Weather underground did everything they could to bring the war to an end. People went to prison for what they believed in but never would anyone have been so self righteous, or fanatical as to not allow a family the peace to bury their son. As for his land I hope he loses it all and moves on, far away from this special place I call home.

Greetings,

WaccoLeaker here for duty.

I am still waiting to get the details regarding the events at the funeral. I was not there, nor would I protest at a funeral; but I would understand if someone did at my father's funeral; if it was done with the same intention I believe Mr.Jenkel had.

Trust that when I do make the report; your opinions and assumptions may be challenged. Please withhold your judgment until you really know the facts; and don't assume that the Press Democrat has all their facts right, or will ever correct them when they are informed.

FYI, when he was challenged to do so, Jenkel was previously evaluated to ensure he could represent himself in court. And in case you were wondering, at the start of my family law case - I had an extensive psych evaluation, as did the other family members. It's just what they make you do when you have big disagreements, and to keep the divorce industry well funded. I was deemed fit; he saw me as unique.

Being different is not a drawback; it's what nature designs when change is needed. A few of us are here to think outside the box and determine what a better box could look like. Some of us to re-build the box to fit the improvements. The rest help manage the workings of the box until it doesn't fit anymore. Then we're to repeat the process; or else be stuck fighting each other in outdated models not meeting our needs.

I'm here now, to continue to ask everyone to insist the mission we use our Defense funded budget appropriations on is defense, not offensive, first-strike, and especially optional use of force.

I say this as the daughter of a departed Air Force Lt. Col., who developed bone cancer from the Agent Orange use where he served in Viet Nam.

I was only 5-6 when he went to "war" in '66 -'67. We were very close, so I missed him dearly. Witnessed scenes of the "war", and the protests on TV; heard the anti-war songs on the radio. It was confusing for a young mind to distill.

Felt proud of my dad for having such an important job. Very scared for him most of the time. I was right to be. He was in fact, not just dropping leaflets off to the Viet Cong, urging them to join our side - for we'd give them food and shelter. He was also part of dropping bombs from the "Puff the Magic Dragon" plane he was navigating.

Overall, I very much agreed with the hippies, I did not like war. Couldn't understand why places like Ireland and the Middle East were always fighting. It's so regressive; as far back as Greek/Roman times, they found a better way to prove might was through the Olympics.

It wasn't until 2003, when I saw Spalding Grey's, "Swimming to Cambodia" and then, "The Killing Fields", that I even understood why the US invaded Viet Nam.

Now we know it's currently about resource and market control, and selling more war machinery. If human rights really were the issue, our solutions would not contain the pain and suffering we have brought on all sides. Creating conditions for human rights to prevail, would not be through methods which contaminate anyone's environment and bodies. Torture would never be a practice of our service members or contractors.

The military has not corrected many of the practices which lead to our own forces, as well as, the ones whose lands we are occupying, being harmed from the way we conduct our operations.

When my father had his military funeral in 1996, the Air Force had only just begun to accept responsibility for the consequences of using Agent Orange. My dad suffered for 8 years with the cancer. If some Veteran, or anyone else, wanted to protest the military's use of a cancer causing substance, I would have been OK with their right to free speech, in order to prevent further casualties.

I'd feel the same if a protester was there to point out that Viet Nam was not a Constitutional war. The War Powers Act was just a "work around" that oath of office to uphold and defend the key fact that only Congress can grant that order, AFTER asking "We The People", IF we have: A) the desire for a war with an enemy; B) have an agreement on who that enemy is; C) have the budget, and resources to achieve the desired results D) have defined and agreed upon what victory looks like.

Pointing out how the mission is flawed, does not, to me, dishonor the poor folks assigned to carry out the mission. It does not take away one bit of honor and respect for the service members who had, and have, the courage to risk everything; and do what they believe was, and is, the right thing to do.

I think it's because of how much he cared about the fallen soldier, that John Jenkel took what he thought was his best way to end the harm for the rest of the troops. In the process, one of his assistants was brutally attacked. Do you think the spirit of that soldier would view that attack as a way to honor his passing?

The banner the men were holding up was about calling for a cease fire. (This was en route; not at the funeral site.) For that, one got several stitches in his head, and the police refused to investigate. So it was really a call for peace, not a protest. (Even still, I would not encourage this practice; just trying to be sensitive to all sides.)

I don't dislike Obama; I disdain his foreign and domestic policies and priorities. I don't dislike having a military; but their mission and methods must be ethical and fiscally responsible; most importantly honest.

To be democratic with such a serious thing as use of force, we should also have a vote on it, so we know we only go to war if the majority approve - just make it a war tax.

The following below has excerpts from my post to my friend Rian Malan's facebook site, the Author of "My Traitor's Heart". Sums up my intentions, and what motivates me to work to change the inherent dangerous US policies which are the root cause of every budget shortfall; and let's please mention - a huge burden to the US Carbon Footprint.

This is not a political issue; every citizen is liable and affected by what happens with what our government approves of for funding.

We are funding murder abroad; without a declaration of war, (so please do not call it war); instead of: America's infrastructure; social and environmental well being; and most importantly, safety - especially disaster preparedness.

Are the values being funded in the 2012 Federal/State/County/City representative of your family's values? What will you do to change that?

If you will, please review my online posts. See if how I continue to try to do this as a citizen lobbyist for a clean, safe world is something you feel is worth your time.

Daily Kos diaries: Colleen Fernald

As a Walking WikiLeaker: google me and you'll find some of my public comments online from the many local government meetings on important issues related to saving our world, our community's watershed.

Try it yourself, see if you feel empowered by using your free speech to influence the outcome of decisions being made by local government. It's all we can do to counter the Lobbyist working to keep unsustainable policies in place.

citiesforpeace.org needs your support to update the resolutions to bring our troops and our money home; your city/county/state needs you to join your neighbors, to convince your elected officials to call for this, via these resolutions. This is an effective way to get Congress and the White House to return to funding only honorable budget items.

It does not matter one bit, what one's foreign policy preference is; or even whether you think what we have been doing for the last 10 years is working or not. We cannot afford it.

If all of you took 1/1000th of the time and resources to save our community and country as Mr. Jenkel does; just by insisting that every elected official uphold their oath to support and defend the Constitution; we would not be at the mercy of this policy of optional force at such huge costs. The results of which are dead, injured and traumatized service members, serving for an unconstitutional "war of choice, not necessity".

Throwing more time, money and service members at these failed methods of countering the very real threats to our safety, will not provide better results. Only more harm to: those who serve, those whose lands we have invaded, and the death of a thousand cuts we suffer at home when the local and State budgets don't get balanced, because of inappropriate appropriations.

Remember how we used our voice, faxes, e mail and letters to slow down the Wall Street bail-out? That's what it will take to get our honorable American values funded, and the failed, harmful ones de-funded.

The things we allow to be funded in the 2012 budget will make or break this country. I'm here to ask you all to help us find our most important common ground; leave behind the rest. The more united we can be, the more Congress will hear us and understand that they have no other choice than to serve America's true best interest; and work for everyone's inheritable future, with respect for all life.

So we're at that point in the movie where you have, or may be about to realize that, the unusual man on the corner, shouting the importance of adhering to the Constitution, and a declaring a cease fire, is paramount to our survival.

In this version of that movie, he's joined by a few folks, mostly women; we've seen a lot of what he's been clamoring about, come to be revealed as fact. The other parts may need some more research, or may remain inconclusive, or are incorrect. That doesn't matter, as much as, what is fact.

UNITED we stand, DIVIDED we fall; or..."re-constitute"!?!

So I've come to see my job description as: Information Analyst, Theorist, & Solutionist.

Information Analyst:

We know most of us don't have enough peace and prosperity, nor health care security. Our ecosystems are fragile and failing; our infrastructure - at risk as is; unimaginably dangerous when natural or man-made disaster strikes.

Theorist:

If we keep it simple, (please help me with that part), we may be able to re-engineer our destiny - this year, and the ones to come; by re-constituting the Constitution.

Solutionist:

How about we co-create the "Constitution for Dummies", so we don't need courts and lawyers to understand and follow it?

How about we work to have our country, and assist ONLY the others who request it, to be united by being tribal?

Let's let the states which want to leave our union go. Let's let the rest vote on the majority's choice of tribal colors: red states(Conservative), blue (Liberal), purple (Moderate) and maybe green states (very Progressive). Then let's organize a great migration land swap for everyone whose home and job is in a tribal region which does not fit their values.

Too crazy, too hard - I hear you thinking? It seems easier than what we've got - basically 2 sides which will never share core values on some very important issues. Gridlock. Bad deals. Enormous debt. Enormous benefits for many of those who need them the least, almost nothing for those who have the most needs.

Run our country like a business? The way many businesses are run these days, I'd rather see if we can run our country like a family. The kind of family who loves each other, serves each other; spends its time & resources in ways which foster well being; creates rules, roles and budgets which are fair and functional for all.

I hope our enemies are reading this post, both foreign and domestic. I hope they will read your responses and new posts too. I hope they will be inspired to stop fighting and work on running their tribes like loving families as well.

Whether you see it as "synthetic terrorism", or not; since 9/11, everyone is suffering from some level of PTSD. Life as we knew it changed. Everyone holds it, or shows it in their own way. Doing this kind of work is what I know I must do to correct what's continuing this trauma upon us.

Help me write this chapter of the screenplay, so we work together to heal; through all sides declaring a cease fire; bringing our service members home to keep us safe here, and having no more military funerals because of optional conflicts built on lies.

City Councils and Boards of Supervisors can only get back to dealing with filling the potholes again, IF they can find the funding. This can only happen IF they work together, in a "holy alliance" to require we de-fund all optional use of force missions.

They will only do that IF all of you require them to, not just Mr. Jenkel and the few others who have kept it up over the last decade.

Let's work to make the next budget reflect our need to re-build each community, re-tool and re-brand Made in America, made local. There is much to be said about the security and benefits of having important resources be de-centralized.

I'd love to hear your solutions.

In peace,

Colleen Fernald

Greetings,

So amazing how books can change and unite the world.

I am a friend of Rian's from late 70's, and a few decades then some.

Should you be in contact with him, please tell him it's time to tell my story, and I request his skills first, as it is, I promised him the story when I was 18.

Here's the working title:

"Take My Advise PLEASE - I'm not using it!
True confessions from the world's best hypocrite"

The US Constitution needs re-constituting before we loose it all. We the People need a Lobbyist, quick!

As a descendant of President James K Polk, the President who took much of the US West from the native descendants; I would like to help my country find it's way into being more accountable; in the areas of social and environmental values.

Something like Rian's challenge to change the course of his ancestry's choices for South Africa.

A few bits from this story would look like...

I would like my country's military to only be:

Funded and used for missions of Defense, not Offense - ONLY!

GREEN - How much has fighting "the war on terror" accelerated climate change? Just using our troops for Defense only could shrink the US carbon footprint 25%!

Not with the use of Contractors, everyone needs to be accountable.

ZERO nuclear weapons (or power) of ANY kind, right now! - for ALL COUNTRIES!!!
Please end this unnecessary risk!!!

All the money spent on fighting, could instead be helping our countries recover our economies with locally made, clean, truly green power production, and other sustainable living & working markets to invest in.

Now would everyone STOP fighting - PLEASE!!! war machines can be re-tooled and just make a FAIR profit, serving healthy living needs.

Sounds like a plan we can call VICTORY right???

...

My idea of supporting our troops is this posting; and working to foster policies where both we, and our enemies, end our harm; and join the cease fire we are all bound to honor through the United Nations agreement each September 21st - (at the least).

I understand that Muslims are religiously bound to honor calls for cease fires as well. It will take ALL of us to make it work; will you work to make it happen in your corner?
