I need to buy a new 5 CD changer, preferably online - and want to spend about $125. Any recommendations?

You can try the apple store (https://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/ipod?mco=OTY2ODY2NQ) or ebay. I suggest you get at least a 32 gig model. It's a bit more money than you were looking for, but its a much better solution, plus it is so much more! (camera, recorder, timer, web, email, free video phone calls (on newest model only), NPR, etc!)

Check craigslist for a used one, or amazon for a lot of inexpensive options.. Best Buy has good prices but gives me the willies.. : )

I've liked Denon and Yamaha in the past. Haven't bought any stereo equipment in recent years, though.

Maybe try checking Consumer Reports online? Even if you don't subscribe sometimes they have articles for the general public with ratings on different products.

I've found you can get a really good unit at the Good Will, or other thrift stores. Typically they are less than $25 (I got a nice single-CD player for $10 several years ago, and it's still going strong). The Good Will in Rohnert Park carries electronics, and there's a St Vincent de Paul next door. This way still fully (or mostly) functional stuff gets a temporary reprieve before entering the landfill or being recycled in China.
