Dear Community,
Please consider helping get CA Assembly Bill 88 passed.
You are what you eat; do you really want your body's new cells to be made from genetically modified ones? Don't we all deserve to know what is, and isn't GM food? Do wild fish have the right to be free from the risks of the genetically modified ones?
Thank goodness we have a State Assemblyman who cares enough to take action. Will you?
With gratitude,

Subject: Support California Assembly Bill 88: Mandatory Labels for Genetically Engineered Salmon - Bill #: AB88
Dear Assembly Member Huffman:
For over twenty years Coast Action Group has been a strong advocate of salmon recovery. In part the basis for this advocacy is the supply of healthy food for human consumption.
Coast Action Group supports AB 88 for a number of reasons.
We believe that the natural diversity inherent in salmon stocks are the building blocks necessary for survival of the species. Wild salmon stocks are currently depressed and their survival is threatened. Genetically modified fish could be a threat to this diversity and ability of wild stocks to survive.
We also believe that consumers have a right to know what they are eating.
Finally, this bill is consistent with and supports the intent of California law limiting the propagation of genetically modified salmon.
Thank you for authoring this bill and moving it forward.
Sincerely,
Alan Levine
