I watched the premiere episode the other night, and laughed my ass off! The answer to your question is, indubitably!

The bit about going to meet their food before eating in a restaurant, was brilliant. Especially the social scene they found at the farm. But also the accomodation they received at the restaurant. I loved the look on the waitresses face every time they asked her to save their table. Fred Armisen (sp?), and his acting/writing partner whose name I can't recall at the moment, are doing brilliant social satire.

I was never very impressed with him on SNL, and often found him and his cohort in recent years tedious and irritating, not very funny. But this show has caused me to completely reevaluate my view of him!

While there is often call to scratch one's head at the Sonoma-tose around here, "Portlandia" could just as easily apply to any town between the Golden Gate Bridge and the Canadian border.

I suppose the difference about S'pol is that we don't even think about it enough to consider it an attribute.

I still love it, though.
