We just dug a well in our forested land on the East side of Santa Rosa and had our water tested, reporting that we had some Coliform present among some other water analysis data. The water has a strong odor (sulfur, iron???, not sure) and we'd like to get it treated safely. I understand there are a few options (green sand???, etc.) and wanted some advice. We've gotten a quote from Weeks but wanted some other options too. Thanks !

ElizW,
My well had sulfur and sulfur bacteria and iron and high mineral count. Generally nasty. I received great help and service from Tony Pagliaro of Rayne Water Systems of Sebastopol. He installed a whole house filter appropriate to the elements in our water and we now enjoy clear odorless healthy water. You might need to practice patience as he is very busy, but the service is worth the wait. Tell him Jennifer and Lindsay sent you.
Peace,
Peanut
