Resistance to Smart Meter installations has increased over the past week in West Marin. Yesterday, protesters blocked the only road leading to Inverness, turned back 6 trucks, then followed the 2 that broke through over farming roads until the 2 trucks stopped and talked with the protesters. In an act of defiance and disrespect one of the Wellington drivers, a male, told one of the protesters, a female "you are my favorite protester. I want you following me.
After this the two "feisty women" drivers followed the Wellington trucks out of Inverness and as far as Forrest Knolls before coming home.
Today, a much larger group formed at Inverness Park with signs and plans to block the passage of the trucks. Those willing to undergo arrest identified themselves and the group waited.
No Wellington. If you do the math...8 trucks are supposed to install 30 or so meters a day. 240 * (the commission from PG&E) = huge financial loss yesterday. Maybe Wellington moved on to another community. Sebastopol is mounting a huge resistance as well. Sorry Wellington, Rohnert Park is not a good site for a contract to impose corporate dominance!
