Like a lot of you, I feed a few strays around my home. Right around the time of
the really cold weather, I noticed that one of them was limping. He's feral and
trap wise so taking him to the vet isn't easy. I put a plastic shelter under my
picnic table and installed an indoor/outdoor heated pad that's meant for
animals. I then covered the picnic table with plastic to keep out the moisture.
That night it was 25 degrees.
I came out in the morning frost and looked in the shelter to see if a cat had
been there. To my surprise, a little kitten face looked back at me. A tiny
kitten, maybe 2 months old, had miraculously found my little heated pad. I live
on acreage with the usual wild creatures, so I'm amazed that she survived.
I took her inside, where I already had 3 rescued kittens, and put her in a
little cage so that the older cats wouldn't hurt her. She seemed so relieved but
wanted out of the cage. When I did let her out she attacked the larger cats in
play ... I was beginning to understand why she survived ...
Liddle is a doll and she needs a new home ... she's still quite small and she
has a few bald spots in her fur where her mats were cut off ... she's incredibly
feisty and a real joy to watch ... she's a bit needy and likes to try to nurse
in my hair ... she purrs like there's no tomorrow ...

Thanks so much!
