Missy had the unfortunate luck to be born into a house full of meth addicts. These folks destroyed the property and were eventually evicted. At that time they just threw all of their cats, including the kittens, outside without food, water or shelter, and left.

Fortunately for Missy and her siblings, Steve was hired to repair the property. When he found the kittens they were huddled together in a corner under the house for warmth. They were cold, starving and dirty but had managed to survive. Missy was out in front guarding the other two and making sure that no one touched them. There were dogs and other adult cats in the neighborhood but none of them got past Missy. At the tender age of 2.5 months old she became "Mom" and protector.

Steve fed, sheltered and cuddled the kittens and then he called me. I took them in immediately.

In spite of this awful beginning, Missy is one of the sweetest and gentlest cats that I've known. She's beautiful and loving, a real lap cat, and her coat is like pure silk. She's been with me now for over a month and it's time for her to reap her rewards in the form of a loving forever home.

Missy has a sister that I call Sweet Pea and she wasn't as fortunate. Though she's healthy and loves to play, her experience left her timid and distrustful. Missy still guards her which is kind of sad. After a month, I can just now touch Sweet Pea and she's wanting to sit next to me. She is a beautiful long-haired cat and I have high hopes for her.

These two cats are beautiful and I will be forever grateful to Steve for saving them. They are now available for adoption so please contact me if you'd like a bit of love and laughter in your life. It would be great if Missy and Sweet Pea could go together, but I'm not expecting miracles. Sweet Pea will definitely need a real cat person who understands patient and loving psychological rehabilitation.
