"Suzie" is looking for her forever home. She was rescued from an owner who allowed her to run loose on a highway, where she was hit by a car. Her right hind leg had to be amputated. She has 3 legs. Suzie has been in foster care for 3 months and is fully healed and she is ready for her forever home.
Suzie is such a wonderful, loving dog that everyone who meets her is enchanted by her brown button eyes and friendly disposition.
- Approx. 5 years old
- White poodle type
- Fabulous temperament, very gentle and loving --- an easy dog.
- Loves to sit on your lap and cuddle
- A real ham who does silly things like move her bed around, or carry her leash in her mouth. Suzie makes you laugh.
- House trained
- Likes other dogs and cats. Suzie is currently living in a foster home with 2 other dogs and 4 cats.
- Loves children and would be good with children age 6+ (possibly younger, but we have not had her with younger kids). Suzie is currently living in a foster home with children ages 9-17.
- Mellow girl who would make a great companion for senior, retiree, or someone who wants to take her to work.
-Very smart, knows "sit" "down" "stay" "wait" and "leave it." Suzie would enjoy further training!
-Current on everything: spayed, vaccinated, recent full dental work, microchipped and licensed in Sonoma County
-Seems to do well being left alone.
Suzie needs a home with a good fenced yard. She is fearful of vehicles and does not want to go on walks near streets where cars are moving (when a car comes she sits and refuses to walk) due to fear from her road accident. Her new person will need to work with her to help her overcome this fear. Suzie has a history of injuring a duck and would not be appropriate in a home with loose poultry. A home without tons of stairs would be best for her.
