need barn cats

we usually have a barn cat or two. sometimes they just "appear", sometimes we have actively caught feral cats.
ideally we would like one or two fixed cats. we have a house cat (fost-adopted) that goes outdoors.
the barn is a the equivalent of a "city block" from the house.
cats get fed daily. usually choose to sleep in the hay.
we have had two, brothers, and before that a single female cat that had feline aids. she lived a long time. would be nice to have a healthy cat.
some times people want to re-home cats that have spraying territorial issues. that would be ok as well.
we have a horse rescue, & have an outdoor dog that was "rescued" twice from the pound.

thanks so much. we have fost adopted 14 kittens this year. kept one. rescued 4 feral cats had them fixed. & have 18 rescue horses.
pick of the litter/forgotten felines.
too pricey.
difficult. the spca puts feral cats down.
we have had some great feral cats, but the cost from the agencies is overwhelming.
i believe spay & neuter programs should be free, especially before 1000 pr programs.
i appreciate your time & suggestions. (shopped at pick of the litter, & donated). rescuing horses is really expensive.best.

[I know someone who is desperately looking for a new home for his cat. He is leaving the country in just a couple of days, and said he was taking it to the pound. I pleaded with him to leave it behind and we'll find a home somehow - so if you need a barn cat, this one needs a place to go! PLEASE! you are so right. one of the barn cats we are getting, today, was "pound" bound.
i believe that we should have a free spay/neuter program, because in not having one the problem is multiplied.
i absolutely agree with you about our local shelter as well.
people don't realize, in these economic times, that adopting a feral cat is not inexpensive.
even an older one costs $100.
i think these cats should be low cost as well, as long as they are going to good homes.
money does not always equate w. good homes.
i saw someone who worked w. me once let her cat population quadruple.
THAT IS EXPENSIVE TO ALL OF US.
SOME OF THE LOCAL PROGRAMS JUST DON'T GET IT....EXCUSE THESE CAPS....I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TAKE THEM OFF.

ONE WOMAN WAS EVEN DOING HORSES & CATS ON HER OWN.

I AM willing to "foster" her until a home can be found, if others can help with expenses. I have to have her spayed, dipped, and current shots before I can bring her on the property.

thanks to you for letting me know about "kitty". he is being a bit mysterious, cats hate to move; he is eating the food i put out. he will be fine as he settles in. appreciate you "making my link". it takes extensive circles to find homes for cats, horses (dogs & other animals.) new i would find some opportunities on wacco.
if you are ever out our way, please come by, & meet the menagerie. so many animals finding new homes. grateful that this was an older cat as they are harder to place. (have room for one more, following a lead on a feral kitten, 9 mos. old in r.p., another wonderful woman has been feeding 2, & is working w. forgotten felines to help trap them.
