VOLUNTEER for Vote Count Observing!

The Sonoma County Democratic Party is in urgent need of volunteers for observation of vote counting at the Registrar of Voters’ office (435 Fiscal Drive, Santa Rosa) starting tomorrow, Nov. 8th.
There are two shifts a day, 9:15AM and 1:15PM.
The mid-term elections are always more intense for the workers at the Registrar’s office because there are so many contests, all the school boards, fire districts, and ballot measures, in addition to the up-ticket races.
Anyone who has observed the post-election-day processes at the ROV office will tell you that it’s extremely interesting to see what happens to our ballots after Election Day. The projected process this coming week includes finishing up the opening of the sealed bags of absentee ballots from the polling places (there are an estimated 30,000 of these ballots waiting for processing,) signature verification on those envelopes, opening the envelopes for the absentee ballots and preparing those cards for processing, military ballot duplicating, and continuing the 1% manual hand-tally.
Volunteer vote count observers are needed at the Registrar of Voters this week on Monday and Wednesday through Friday (Nov. 10th-12th), but not on Tuesday the 9th. The following week volunteers will be needed every weekday.
Please RSVP here ([email protected]) with your telephone number and the date and time that you can volunteer at the Registrar's office.
