By habit I scan the forums list page to see if there have been any new posts in the forums which interest me, since the last time I logged in. I can scan the whole list in just a few seconds. Without it, I'm forced to open each individual forum to see if there's been activity. I hope you'll add or return that feature to the re-design. Also, I'd like to request a "Mark All Read" button on the forums list page when you get around to it.
Thanks Barry!

First, try the new interface (https://www.waccobb.net/forums/showthread.php?73089-New-website-design-available-for-Beta-Test).
The What's New in the header in the header will give you all threads in the last day that you haven't viewed online.
We'll change that at some point to show all threads over the last 7 days, but not right away.
Also the forum home page shows New icons when a forum has new posts. Double clicking it will mark that forum read.
You can mark all forums read by using the "Bulletin Board Quick Nav" in the upper right.
Let me know what you think of the bottom control panel. I'm going to be tweaking that to add controls that are most useful all the time. What's New is a good candidate for that.

The "what's new" button wasn't working for me, but I found a "new posts" button in the footer. I agree that it would be nice if that feature could be accessed more easily, like in the header.

They should be identical options. Please re-test and tell me what happens.

I was referring to the "new interface", called "cool blue" Sheesh,

Yes. It was nice on the "temporary" interface to see the title of the new post, and its poster, to the right of the forum title.
I guess I didn't explain well enough, let me rephrase. I appreciated on the old "temporary" menu, that I could scan all of the forums listed on the top forums screen. I could see if there was a new post in any forum i was interested in. I could see the topic/title, and decide if I wanted to enter that forum to read the message. I didn't have to push any "What's New" link, or any other link to see that information. With the little "new" arrow icon, it indicates that there's a new post, but not if it's a new topic, or a new post in threads I'm interested in.
Sorry to be verbose here, but I don't think I got my feedback to you clearly, based on your reply.
If you want to put those features I liked back in or not, I'll probably still visit the forums.

I think what you are saying is that you miss the "last post" column. Is that correct?
If the What's New returned recently updated threads, whether or not that you have seen them, doesn't that do the trick? Besides there could be 2 new threads, the first of which would be interesting (to you) and the second not, but only the second would display in the Last Post thread. So it doesn't seem like its all that helpful.

I wanted to comment on the design aspect - I enjoy the new Beta version as it is easier on the eyes when seeking out Subject Categories the data is easier to read, so thank you for reformatting headings and content areas. And I like the logo changes and dark header pop with orange sun and light blue page color... Also, I would love to see a WaccoBB Business Directory link in the Header menu bar and at footer. I am committed to supporting local services and businesses that support WaccoBB as our many Waccoons, lets make the info easy to access. :-)
Looking forward to my own Directory listing for SuzyGrowsMyBiz! Keep up the good work!

I like the look, especially larger type for titles, "What's New?", etc. The color scheme is OK, I prefer green and rose, warmer colors. Blue is still cyber-hospital..
But I'm having a problem with the double banner header and the tool bar, or whatever it's called, at the bottom of the screen. Along with my habitual browser tool bars (navigator with current URL, favorites, and screens open) that is a lot of crowding at the top and bottom of the screen.
What I want to see is the active window for whatever post or thread I'm viewing, not a lot of static space that narrows the active screen.
I understand that this site, like most, pays for itself through advertising. But when the logo and banner ads are half of the page (yeah, I know, I can scroll down to focus on the active screen, but that's just one more step to get there, hence my complaint about excessive clutter), it's a bit much.
Perhaps a reduction in size for the site logo, banner ads and bottom tool bar, while keeping the main screen text sizes about where they are, could alleviate the problem? I'm not talking microscopic, how about bringing these things down, say, 20%?
