Why, after the facelift, can only Supporting Members show Gratitude?
I think this makes the Gratitude measure less indicative of what the participants of this site find of their interest.

This is very much NOT the intention.
In fact I am surprised and thankful for this bit of feedback.
I'll test that asap!
Some Background:
The gratitude system started as a community "hack" in the vBulletin world (as "Thank You"). I modified and extended it considerably.
The original developer initially ported this very popular hack to this new version of VB as a beta, but then abandoned it and has mysteriously disappeared (from the VB world).
Another developer has released a similar (but different) hack, including free and commercial versions, but that too would also require substantial modification for our needs.
I've been a bit reluctant to pick a path. I'm hoping the original developer will re-appear (I've send him private messages without response), considering adopting our current gratitude system (and fixing it) and hold it as our own custom feature, or switching over to this new system and modifying it.
My understanding so far is that the gratitude system works ok on the website, but does not work from the gratitude button in emails (both individual emails and the digest).
And, at the moment, I am hosting Anna Gayer from Boulder who runs a similar list based on YahooGroups (as we were) and is looking at adopting our extensions for her use. So you may need to wait to next week.
P.S. This was NOT a facelift. This was a feature lift.: An interim facelist is coming in a week or three and a really nice facelift is coming this fall.

Also, has anyone noticed that in their profile, the gratitude they have offered in the past has diminished considerably? Not that I'm counting, just egoically wincy to think that anyone looking at my (otherwise empty) profile might think me ungrateful as well as stingy with personal info

The Gratitude button should now be working in the digest and emails. The gratitude history hasn't been restored yet, but I'm hopeful that will happen as well.
Thanks for your patience, folks!

After giving Gratitude to many tonight, I tried to give Gratitude to Barry for fixing the Stilted Gratitude problem... I was told I don't have access to this and to become a subscribing member (or whatever...) What's up with that?? Are we allowed only a certain amount of Gratitude before we have to pay for it?? I would appreciate a public reply to this and will give you Gratitude in advance!

:hello:??
I now see that I have, in fact, been allowed to give Gratitude for the fixing of the Stilted Gratitude problem, even though I saw the message saying I did not have access to this feature... I'm confused!
But, still, I give Gratitude for this awesome community resource and the many wonderful people who participate, many of whom give free services to those of us who live on very limited income. Thanks to You, for All You Do!
Great Gratitude to All,
