Reading what you posted, Kay, I feel puzzled and curious - a bit intrigued. What I'm most curious about is: what does she mean by "emotionally available" and why (for what purpose) is she seeking such people? (please correct me if I have your gender wrong.)
I'm interested because I would think of "emotional availability" as being able to express myself - and hear others - from the level of real feelings and needs, especially emotional needs. And this, I believe, is crucial to building relationships and groups (communities) of mutual support and caring, the kind that empower us and move us toward inner wholeness.
There are other levels on which we can meet: mind, body as well as heart (or soul?). In my experience, rarely does meeting on the mental level bring us together, and the body level can be little more than a temporary distraction. If we want a togetherness that opens us to new possibilities, the heart level is where we can find common ground - where we can truly connect and resonate with each other.
So I'll ask the question I've appreciated a lot: What do you really want?
with gratitude,
Clint
