Unlike my fellow wacoons, the furry animals also: get into the compost bucket, if possible; have eaten most of my youngberries this year, due to a weak fence; and get their (always muddy, even in summer, I don't know how) little footprints all over the car, remembering once or twice when I forgot to close the windows).
De Rien!
Wacoon is a recent contribution, from another ... "wacoon" ..., (Sorry coiner of waccoon, I forget your name and am too lazy to search for it. Confess! Or don't, as you like.) that I like and have adopted.
I believe they meant it to be pronounced, wah koh awn (accent on the second syllable), but I think of it as, wak ewn.
And I'm painfully aware that some sensitive person might think it is a reference to a racist term for Black people, used by Southern "Crackers" (Hah!).
But that's not what I mean by it. And I resent this! In the name of those who I prefer it being a reference to, I protest on behalf of them against this slander of furry woodland creatures with bandit eye markings and a vicious bite if cornered, everywhere!!!
The story of waccobb is in the FAQ's for this website.
Here's the link (https://www.waccobb.net/forums/waccobb-net-faq/25584-where-did-name-waccobb-come.html).
And thanks for asking!
