I am a budding painter and i have a VERY strong desire to get my art out in the world and seen.
My paintings are very calming and i try to invoke positive feelings and emotions into them.
I am looking for local Sonoma County venues, resturants, etc to showcase my art. I am not looking to sell (although, that would be a great outcome). I just want it to be seen.
If anyone has any information about local venues or juried art shows, i would greatly appreciate any tid-bit!

I have known the following Sebastopol venues to display art on a regular
basis: Slice of Life (near Whole Foods), Coffee Catz (at Gravenstein Station), East-West Cafe and Village Bakery. Sebastopol Gallery on MaIn
Street is a member collective you may want to check out, and of course
you may want to join and.or enter pieces for possible juried selection for shows at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. I think also if you check out the most recent issue of the Sonoma County Gazette (available at quite a few locations in Sebastopol, Graton and Forestville), you'll find many visual art venues listed in the paper.
Good wishes,

Gaia's Garden in Santa Rosa (in front of Community Market) has shows that run 6-8 weeks, with a reception if the artist wants one. The type of work you're describing (calm, positive) seems compatible with our environment. We've just started a new show (Artist: Nika), but will be looking for someone for September. Call Ari at 292-7492.
Best wishes,
Susan
