these shootings have weighed heavily on so many people, including me, for these five years. whatever else happens here, it is finally being fully acknowledged. the words have been spoken - murder and attempted murder. i hope justice is served. but speaking the truth is the first step. i feel some melting of the outrage inside me just from that. i highly recommend we keep speaking what is.

Four New Orleans police officers could face the death penalty after being accused of gunning down two unarmed people in the chaotic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in the latest twist for a corruption-plagued department that already faces several federal investigations.
