Did you know about the Stornetta Public Lands, on the Mendo coast near Pt. Arena? I hadn't heard about them at all, until I read this blog on The Daily Kos website. Well worth a read, especially if you like to enjoy our mighty-fine northern California coast.

Excerpts:
"Along the Mendocino County coastline, just north of the town of Point Arena, is a wonderful recent acquisition into California's enviable public lands system - Stornetta Public Lands (https://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/ukiah/stornetta.html). Having recently discovered this lovely stretch of California's prized coastline we spent a couple of hours plying the winds and enjoying the surf and wildflowers. Do not forget your camera!"
