The Department of Justice just filed a lawsuit against the state of Arizona to challenge the racial profiling law that state is trying to implement. This lawsuit is a sign that the Obama Administration won’t let rogue states create laws from hatred and fear. It's a good first step, and it paves the way to keep copycat laws off the books in other states.

In President Obama's speech on immigration reform last week, he said that he's committed to fixing our broken system. This is a down payment on that promise, but there's so much more we still need to do. Can you join me in faxing the President and tell him to keep it up?

How about closing your eyes and imagining hundreds of thousands of ILLEGALS tramping through the corridor between Petaluma and Clear Lake, right through Sebastopol and Forestville, just to make a new life. Oh Yes, lets not forget the smuggling of drugs and those unfortunate souls who are trying to escape Mexico through the use of coyotes.

All Arizona is trying to do is figure out a way to get the laws on the books today to be enforced. What part of ILLEGAL don't you get.

I do not think Obama cares about immigration, all he sees is 30,000,000 votes and in case you missed it Obama and his agenda are on the ropes. Come November his water will be shut off.

Yes, AZ, and all the border states are incurring the heaviest part of the cost; one of the main reasons the U.S. needs to have a coherent immigration policy.

Well, and they added some pretty contentious language....which, even after a bunch of backpedaling, is still unacceptible to huge numbers of people. Add to that Gov. Brewers cheap political shots. Where was her voice when the Bush administration was, aside from an occasional vague statement, doing nothing.

Obviously. And I think you're totally wrong about that. Your being way too selective pointing the finger of blame. Just want to be fair and say that there are a lot of people who have a much higher opinion of Obama's immigration reform efforts than you. But yer going to believe what you want, so I can't see any point in talking past each other about it. It would be fairly easy to find numerous threads here where pretty much all sides of who-has-what-intentions about immigration has been pounded ad nauseum.
