after reading the PD article on Sonoma's upcoming matter re leaf blowers, it occurred to me, wouldn't it be great if DYSON created a vacuum that would do this.

the entire point of the leaf blower is to remove leaves and bits of dust quickly and economically.

the blowing makes it someone else's dust, and hurts others' health.

if it was vacuumed up, the goal would be accomplished (probably a lot more quietly too), the material would not be transfered to someone else's property, the harmful dust would not be inhaled, the job would be done.

Dyson has created another interesting product: a "fan" that doesn't have blades. They call it an air multiplier. Best Buy carries them (featured in their PD flyers).
