As many of you know, I was running for re-election to the Democratic Central Committee on the June 8 ballot. Early this week, when the Registrar finished counting the last batch of ballots (absentees delivered on Election Day) I pulled into fifth place by 6 votes, and so made it back on the committee.

Thanks so much to those who helped me out. In particular: Kathleen Shaffer and Bob Green; Stephen Fuller-Rowell; David Walls; Andy Whitholn; members of Progressive Democrats, and the voters at Oak Grove School.

As you know my priority has been to build better links between the Committee and our communities. The process has been slow, but with persistence the Committee has taken steps that should produce some results in the next two years. I will keep you posted!
