A mature teenage woman is in need of a place to stay for 2 to 3 weeks ASAP. It needs to be in Sebastopol as this is where she works and she doesn't have a car. Seems like she'd be good company if someone has a spare room or couch - and she is working a lot. She is able to pay something and is also open to staying in a homeless shelter if there's one in Sebastopol.

Anyone in Sonoma County can dial 2-1-1 for access to 24/7 assistance with human service needs. The mostly volunteer operators have an amazing computer system. They will conduct a short interview, and should be able to direct her to appropriate agencies.

SAY, Social Advocates for Youth, operates a teen homeless refuge in Santa Rosa. Catholic Charities operates Sam Jones Hall, which is just off the Rodota trail at the West end of Santa Rosa...she would need to check in at their homeless services center on Morgan Street first. Line up starts at 1pm, and is first come first serve...so it is good to arrive at least an hour ahead of that time There are vouchers available for temporary hotel rooms, I believe for 2 weeks, if this has not been used in the recent past.

West County Community Services in Sebastopol may have a voucher program available, but we are at the end of the fiscal year so I would call first. If none of this helps, please call Supervisor Carrillo's office tomorrow at 565-2241. His assistant should be able to give you additional resources, but the 2-1-1 or SAY would be good first steps.

Thank you for caring for this girl...there are a lot of struggling folks out there right now.
