Besides the high profile offices and candidates (here are my choices):

Governor - Jerry Brown
Lieut. Gov - Gavin Newsom
Senator - Barbara Boxer
State Senator - Noreen Evan or Tom Lynch
District Atty - Jill Ravitch
What about all the other races? Anybody know any of these people?

To the surprise of none I'm voting the GP ticket, although I don't like that there's only one candidate per office. Still I choose to represent for the Green!

I would vote for Noreen Evans otherwise. She's got a good track record, both in the Santa Rosa City Council and the Assembly. She's the one who said that Der Groepenfuhrer's proposed budget cuts last summer gave a new meaning to "women and children first."

The slimy letters in the PD trying to pin the budget impasse on her, as Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, are truly bullshit. I wasn't aware that she was personally responsible for; Prop 13, the requirement that a super majority pass any budget, Republican log rolling and obstruction (i.e. absolute refusal to raise taxes, particularly on corporations and high income earners), etc., etc., etc.. Now, if she were, that would be another kettle of poisson.

Yes, she's supported by left/liberal special interests, unions, social service advocates, etc. That's because she cares about regular people. That's why she should be supported. She's one of a few Democrats I make a serious exception for, in spite of my criticisms of the Democratic Party, and my Green Party partisanship.

Woolsey being another, and Michael Allen a third. (His troubles with the FPPC are worth a discussion another day.)

Here are the endorsements of the California Democratic Party, where applicable:

Governor--Jerry Brown
There really is no one else. Let's hope he shows his fighting and creative sides when he goes up against Meg W.

Lt. Governor. As I wrote here sometime ago, the party has not endorsed in this race, because neither candidate received 60% of the delgates' votes. However, I am recommending that we vote for Newsom. I was not pleased with Hahn's approach to the issues in the Rural Caucus at the meeting at the convention. The Lt. Gov serves on many important committees and commissions.

Senator ----Barbara Boxer.
As chair of the Senate Committee on Environment, she has done the heavy lifting on many issues of vital importance to us on the North coast.

State Senator---Noreen Evans
Miles has stated the case well.

The party did not endorse in the DA race, because neither candidate received the necessary two/thirds votes needed. I was the chair of the sub-committee that did the interviews, so I am not saying who I am going to vote for.
