Come learn what Marin Clean Energy is all about! Learn how Marin Clean Energy can guarantee you a higher amount of renewable energy at prices that are lower than PG&E. Learn how the money generated by MCE will be used to support energy efficiency and renewable energy creation programs, creating local jobs, lower carbon emissions and an energy independent Marin.
You will also learn what is so bad about Proposition 16. PG&E calls it the "Taxpayer's Right to Vote Act", others call it the "Monopoly Protection Act". It is funded entirely by PG&E with $46 million. Watch for it on June 8th ballot.

Sunrise Center is offering educational outreach in areas of sustainability, health & wellness, Compassionate Communication, and issues of public welfare. Currently, we are offering talks with special guest speakers from our local governments to talk about why they support Marin Clean Energy.
Marin Clean Energy (https://www.marincleanenergy.info/)
If you live in the towns of Mill Valley, Tiburon, Sausalito, Marin City, San Rafael, San Anselmo, Greenbrae, Fairfax or another qualifying area of Marin County, you now have the option to opt-in early to Marin Clean Energy's program and choose 100% renewable energy delivered to your home. The cost of this Deep Green energy option will be available for about $10 extra per month and will go down over time. You are not required to participate in this program, but choosing to participate is the best way to support green energy now. We will also show you how to reduce your electricity bill by $15, so you can save money while supporting the 100% renewable energy creation!
You can also support Marin’s Clean Energy Initiative by simply doing nothing. With this choice, you will become a Light Green customer when Phase 2 rolls out in 2011, giving you 25% renewable energy at the same price (or lower than) you are currently paying. Over the next 5 years the Light Green option will raise the bar to 50%+ renewable energy at prices that are scheduled to drop below PG&E’s offerings by a larger margin with every passing year.
If you live in Novato, Corte Madera, Larkspur or Ross and you want green energy, write to your city council members and attend their meetings to let them know you want the right to choose to be a customer of MCE. If Proposition 16 passes before your city opts-in, your city will be blocked from the opportunity to participate in MCE until you pass a 2/3 vote in your county. You can expect PG&E to do everything in their power to prevent a 2/3 vote from passing. PG&E has already put down $46.1 million in their efforts to create this constitutional amendment. The opposition has only been able to raise $90 thousand... less than 2% to fight this unfair and deceptively advertised proposition.
Encourage your community to opt-in before June 8th and please vote no on 16.
