Pesticides were at one time linked to soft tissue tumors in children. Once the press got wind of it the results of the study mysteriously went in the other direction and an article was published saying that there was no evidence that pesticides were linked in any way to tumors in children.
The same goes with flouride in drinking water, though I can't see the motive for tampering with test results. Flouride was linked to tumor metastisis. Then the results went the other direction after the article was published.
Doesn't it make you trust the AMA?

much gratitude - and quick ACTION, from site below:
Instructions: Political insiders tell us that one phone call is worth dozens of emails. Please do both!
1) Call Governor Schwarzenegger, at (916) 445-2841 and use the suggested talking points below to get you started.
2) Click through to sign the petition as well.
Talking points for your call:
"Hello, my name is ____, and I'm calling from ____. I am very concerned about the possible introduction of the cancer-causing chemical methyl iodide into use on California farms"
“I understand that more than 50 scientists from around the country urged EPA not to approve methyl iodide in agricultural fields because it is so highly toxic."
“I also know that a panel of scientists from around the country is now finalizing their review of the potential health hazards of using of methyl iodide as a pesticide, and have already expressed serious concerns about the chemical."
“Please protect California’s workers and communities by making the right choice: Say NO to methyl iodide."
"Thank you.”
Dear Governor Schwarzenegger;
Please don’t approve the use of the chemical methyl iodide on California farms.
Exposure to methyl iodide is linked to severe health concerns, including miscarriages and cancer. As you know, methyl iodide is so dangerous that over 50 scientists across the country -- five of them Nobel Laureates -- sent a letter to EPA expressing astonishment that the agency “would even consider the introduction of a chemical like methyl iodide into agricultural use."
I know that a panel of scientists from around the country is now reviewing the potential health hazards of using methyl iodide as a pesticide, and have already expressed serious concerns about the chemical.
Please protect California’s workers and communities by making the right choice: Say NO to methyl iodide.
