I suppose it's inevitable... where there's money to be made, there are corporations ready to exploit.

Check out this article about a Los Angeles area corporation, Marijuana-Incorporated, who are buying up golf courses in the Emerald Triangle (Mendocino, Humboldt & Trinity counties,) to turn them into Cannabis Disneylands: tourist attractions with grow sites, classes, products, etc.

I'm not against growing the industry -- it's a natural progression -- but this company's website oozes creepiness to me! Their format/graphics are poorly conceived and the text/copy rambles on, barely making sense, yet really clear to pat themselves on the back for being hip and forward-thinking. Their intentions don't feel genuine... it just makes me nauseous! :barfonu:

Here's the creepy website:

With the Tax Cannabis vote coming up in November, :vote: and as a Prop 215 patient, I want to support conscious growth of the cannabis movement. Let's share info/websites/articles on how the locals are dealing with these unprecedented challenges.

I'm a NorCal Native and feeling very protective of my home territory! :batman:

We can make a difference! :bgrphug:

I don't see the problem. First, any business concern that converts golf courses to ag use scores a plus with me. Marijuana, Inc. looks to be a "green" (no pun) industry, in an area that could use some additional employment opportunities.

What's the problem with offering "420-Friendly" tourism locations? Especially those providing education in marijuana cultivation? I looked through the links you offered; I didn't see anything about "Cannabis Disneylands". Maybe I missed it somewhere?

I thought Marijuana, Inc. stated a fairly good mission statement on their top page.

I think the net effect will be to bring out-of-state tourism dollars to Northern California, as "Oaksterdam" has done for Oakland. Perhaps those tourists will go back to their home states, and become more active proponents of marijuana decriminalization/legalization in their area. Again, I don't see the problem.
