Dear Wacco Community...I am returning to Sonoma County for several months and I am hoping to form a group based on the work I am doing in the area of early traumatic stress. To quote Daniel Siegel, "Interpersonal neurobiology of human development enables us to understand that the structure and function of the mind and brain are shaped by experiences, especially those involving emotional relationships." To quote Allan Schore,
"There is now widespread agreement that the brain is a self-organizing system, but there is perhaps less of an appreciation of the fact that the self-organization of the developing brain occurs in the context of a relationship with another self, another brain. This other self, the primary caregiver, acts as an external psychobiological regulator of the "experience-dependent" growth of the infant's nervous system..." If you are wondering what such a group might have to do with you...we were all infants and this is the root of who we are. You can go to www.xlibris.com/HealingtheWoundThatWontHeal.html (https://www.xlibris.com/HealingtheWoundThatWontHeal.html) and read the first four pages of my book. Peace...Jo
