Thanks. That is SO cool.
Of course the cost now, 100 times the original $50 in 1951, a person would be losing money to inflation!
Also, a few years ago I heard of some guy making an energy source from U2-35 that would power a car; heard it in daylight on the radio on a news program, real news, not opinionated blowhards such as myself. Heard it once and never again!
Now THAT would be worth it....then I could live up here in Kodiak and be truly off the grid with that powering my house!

i grew up looking at cloud chambers at lawrence berkeley lab - so i probably have my quota of radiation filled, no?
somewhere i have an article (think it's from WIRED magazine) outlining portable independent atomic energy units; i'll try to find it.
the thought keeps popping into my mind all these installations of photovoltaic panels may be obsolete in a very short period of time.
i.e. look how far the technology has come in just the past ten years or so; seems photovoltaics (especially using silicon) may degrade quickly and require a lot of maintenance such as keeping the glass clean...
we'll see, won't we?
