ABOUT THE COURSE:

This comprehensive four-day course provides you with a practical repertoire of authentic tools to transform afflictive emotions, resolve physical ailments, and powerfully support spiritual development. Participants will also develop a clear, cognitive understanding of the theory behind these potent, enduring techniques.

The teachings and practices offered in this course are based on the 800-year-old Emei Linji Chan Lineage of the Sino-Tibetan borderland—ancient knowledge that has only become available to the lay population in the past ten years.

A senior student of Emei Lineage Head, Grandmaster Fu Weizhong, and student of Emei methods since 1985, Devatara Holman is a Certified Master in the Emei Linji Chan Lineage (now referred to as the Emei Qigong Lineage for the benefit of educating the lay population). She has been granted the privilege of offering these teachings in America and is making them available in our community. Devatara lived in the border region of China and Tibet for seven years during the 1980’s, where she began her study of Buddhist medicine and the integration of medicine and spiritual practices. For the benefit of all sentient beings, Devatara has dedicated her life to increasing awareness of the great benefits of Buddhist medicine and the wisdom of the Emei Linji Chan Lineage.

About the instructor:

Devatara Holman M.A., M.S., LAc, acupuncture and Buddhist medicine practitioner, founded Marin Oriental Medicine in Sausalito, where she has provided private instruction and healing sessions since 1994. Unusually trained in Eastern healing arts, she speaks Chinese fluently and lived in China and Tibet for seven years where she studied the practical integration of medicine and spiritual practices. A student of Emei methods since 1985 and senior student of Emei Lineage Head, Grandmaster Fu Weizhong, Devatara is a Certified Master in the Emei Tradition and has dedicated her life to increasing awareness of the benefits Buddhist medicine and the wisdom of the Emei Linji Chan Lineage. She is trained in Vajrayana Buddhism and is a dedicated student of H.H. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche. Her teachings on Buddhist Medicine come primarily from the Emei and Dzogchen traditions.

A respected healer and author of several scientific articles on Energy Medicine, Devatara has also held faculty positions at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and San Francisco State University. She serves on the Dzogchen Sri Singha Board of Directors, which furthers the international work of H.H. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche. Devatara is co-chair of the Emei Advisory Committee, which supports Grandmaster Fu Weizhong’s work in the West; and is a Director of the Qigong Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to research and public education about Qigong and energy medicine.
