Have any of our stations here in CA. covered this?...
People, this is serious...It has nothing to do with 'racism'...
As a country - we have an obligation - a 'right' to protect our borders...And to enforce our laws when it comes to people coming into our country illegally - no matter where they come from...
Should the U.S. also build a big floating fence around the ocean borders of the U.S., and also build a huge wall along the Canadian border too? Perhaps the U.S. ought to reinforce the border with automatic heat-seeking machine guns.
No, that'd probably cause more problems than it would solve; Mexico, for one, would get all icky on us.
Here'es a thought, and I hope to see a video with right-wing AZ senate campaigns and conservative southern pols get on board with it - let's revise the U.S. immigration laws so foreign workers can come here without running the border zone gauntlet, work here, then go home. That would greatly reduce the number of illegal crossings, making it easier to capture the ones that do go that route.

At the risk of getting thrown off, this is very naive of you.
Some wish to "change" our country and can do so only by having an emergency or disaster occur. One of the better ways of doing this is to cover many issues by shouting down others with "racism" charges. Those OTM that are coming into our country will help create such an action eventually. Meanwhile the Georgia rep and others get their "grass cut" for cheap, etc.
A nation does not have a "right", only people have rights; a nation has an OBLIGATION, a pact, an agreement, a sacred duty, to keep its people from harm; absent that, it is time to move or change those that fail to do so. Very basic, from parents, to chiefs, to kings, to presidents, it is their duty to keep US safe.
OK, enough preaching. Get off my back!

Countries in Europe opened their borders, now they have the same problems as we do. People who worked hard and build for generations are paying now more taxes, have less health care, more crimes, etc, thanks to illegal immigrants.
Most of the legal immigrants are educated and are able to have jobs and pay their share to be taken care of.
Some of these countries like to close their borders again.
Why should a country that can take care of itself take illegals in to set everything off and risk their own livelihood?
There need to be a way to help countries and their people to grow... It is sad in this time and age that this is not possible.
As i mentioned once before- USA should not make war in Europe, instead fight, spent money and energy in Mexico and help rebuild for the people- that, in return would help us too.

Just curious about the lack of discussion on the topic of NAFTA and the horrible failure that set of policies brought to Mexico and by extension the USA. Under NAFTA a whole lot of sweat shop factories sprouted in northern Mexico especially along the Texas border. Many thousands of Mexicans moved to work in the factories. With the passage of GATT a few years later, the multinational corporations closed a majority of the factories so they could move to China in search of cheaper labor, leaving the Mexicans unemployed. Guess where they all moved? They moved into the drug trade, prostitution, violent crime and eventually, to the US.
And then there's the little matter of our multi-national corporations flooding Mexican markets with cheap, taxpayer (that's you and me) subsidized corn which drove a whole lot of Mexican farmers off their land, into the truly horrible major cities, and eventually (ta-da!) to the US.
It's US policies that encouraged a majority of the illegal immigration we've seen in recent decades. This is the legacy of Bill Clinton, who I believe was the most corrupt president in my lifetime prior to G.W. Bush. He was no hero with regard to illegal immigration. He was the architect of it.
Now the rest of us have to deal with it. The only way to prevent illegal immigration from Mexico is to make it worthwhile for Mexicans to stay at home. At this point, we've screwed ourselves so badly with our incompetence and corruption it will cost hundreds of billions of dollars to solve the problem.
Like that's going to happen!

I apologize for posting to this thread. The disgusting photos above hadn't loaded when I read through the postings so I didn't see them until after my post went live. (I have a very slow connection today.)
I'm sure we could find a lot of photos from Iraq and Afghanistan of US soldiers proudly posing in scenes similar to those above. That's no reason to post them on Wacco and I do hope Barry takes these pictures down.
We get it. People are violent. We don't need to see the pictures.

My friend, I wish I could disagree with you more. While these photos are not for children or those to fragile to consider the realities of the evil that is posing as men, they are as near as the lax boarder this discussion is regarding. Does anyone think that such a border will stop those that visit such violence on their own? Do nothing and evil will come follow.
I hope Barry does take them down, after a few days at least.

Your naivety about the US military is sad. We have the most efficient killing machine the world has ever seen, and we use it with ruthless and callous disregard for civilian casualties.
You obviously have no idea what cluster bombs, Daisy Cutters, depleted uranium or Mark-77 fire bombs do to civilians, but if you want to see our soldier's handywork, you can google the images yourself.

Debunker you are so NON-AMERICAN it is mind blowing ..you speek like a lawyer for the prosecution of America......Kaya......
uh, I have a problem with your definition of "American". I don't draw the same inferences he does, but it's clear what the bases are for the ones he makes. Kaya, you're not above criticizing Americans as a class
"...some folks cant stand reality, that's the problem . Americans today...." and though he makes a lot harsher criticisms than yours, he's usually criticizing those in power. And they deserve to be scrutinized.
How people who admire America for its freedoms can at the same time attack those making charges about its wrong-doings is beyond me. If their charges are untrue or extreme, challenge them. Or ignore them if they have no basis in fact. But if in truth America is to represent the highest ideals, as you seem to think it does, it needs to continually root out the things that run counter to them. So any excuse that sounds like "yeah, it's bad, but it was justified!" or "how can you say those things, our enemies are so much worse!" is more un-American than the critique.
Now that being said: his quote
" I hate the evil people who have hijacked her, gutted our treasury and embarked us on undeclared EVIL wars without end." is one I can't completely agree with. Many of them undoubtedly are evil, but I suspect that the overall number is small. I don't believe that the people I've met throughout my life are such a different species than those with such a big footprint in the world (and I've met a few who might qualify as being 'in power'). People can do enough harm when they have (somewhat) good intentions. Why assign biblical qualities to them?
These broad generalizations and simplification of motivations just don't match with my own observations of events and people. Stuff happens. People act very badly, and don't have the imagination to really confront the consequences, or have a grandiose sense of their own place in history that lets them unleash disaster on the unfortunates of the world (including us, a lot of the time). I'm thinking of people like Rumsfeld, here. They're doing evil, but I think the ones triggering it are most likely blind to that. The reason I react so strongly to Kaya's post is that her attitudes support those evil results. You can't deny the awesome destruction America's military can and has wreaked. But you don't have to ascribe evil to those who triggered it, either.

I'm with you, that it's a deeply frightening thought. Where we part, I think, is in the idea that such badness is inherent in Mexican immigrants. And that America is one big nice person. Our country has loads of awfulness, mixed in with much more wonderfulness.
Kaya, I'm curious to know what you're hoping for here, with the note-taking and the no-mercy.
Kathy
What I was hoping for here is that people may realize that America is not mean spirited and far from it....people need to know that there is alot going on around the boarder and perhaps these laws are made to try and protect our people ....If we keep letting things slide and dont get strict maybe we can have the privilage of seeing this handywork in our streets ...Kaya...

No belief necessary here, Kaya--it's well-documented that our boys and our girls have committed atrocities. Not a belief, not an opinion.
How about playing soccer with the head of an Afghani man? Does that count? How about pictures of US servicemen standing next to "enemy" bodies posed in sexually demeaning positions? How about pictures of soldiers waving to the camera with hands blown from bodies?
I've seen the pictures. I was able to find them easily with a web search. I now note those pictures have been removed or somehow blocked. Interesting the military has that kind of power over the so called World Wide Web.
There are many documented massacres of civilians. I won't bother listing them. There is no justification for this kind of behavior. These aren't "our brave young men." These are creeps and perverts. These are murderers. If this is America's finest, we've got some real systemic problems we need to deal with. Oh, that's right. We have a whole lot of real, systemic problems we need to deal with. Our policies with other countries should be on the front burner.
If we prevented our multinational companies (agreed that they reach far beyond the US) from forcing farmers off their lands we could do a lot to stem the flow of illegals. The answer isn't in building sweat shops in Mexico. The answer is allowing the Mexican people their own free markets without the intrusion of US based corporations.
These are complex issues, but most of them harken back to the insidious influence of the military-industrial-political complex. That bunch of crooks needs more customers. Illegal aliens and our own citizens are in the crosshairs.

Lynn,
Where did your ancestors come from and how many generations ago? If you are not comfortable with the people who inhabited this land before your family arrived from Europe (or wherever they immigrated from) maybe you should go back to Europe? It's a thought.

(You can click on Pt. 1 below the video to watch that first - (couldn't get that one to link)...
Have any of our stations here in CA. covered this?...
People, this is serious...It has nothing to do with 'racism'...
As a country - we have an obligation - a 'right' to protect our borders...And to enforce our laws when it comes to people coming into our country illegally - no matter where they come from...

I find your squemishness about mayhem unconvincing, considering the fact that you think the slaughter of innocents by the hundreds of thousands is okay, as long as it's Americans doing the slaughtering.

I think she means she's uncomfortable with the idea we're uncomfortable with it. Non-Americans shouldn't feel that way, I guess.

Dark Shadows ? Why should it be our responsibility to feel comfortable around the people who inhabited this land before us . It seems more logical that we would feel uncomfortable ? The land is America now , you are asking our people to now give it back ? speak there tounge ? teach it and feel sorry....? you are ashamed of Americas actions ? If you are ashamed you think your children should suffer and become Mexican ? Perhaps your children should supply more money to the mexicans and Indians and clean there homes and tend to there fields ? My kids will NOT nor will they be responsible for folks like you feeling sorry for something that is HISTORY ! Learn to stand up straight and be a proud American or LEAVE...Kaya.........

The wars in Europe now are about oil. The-beginning war- at the Mexican border is about drugs. Both are also about land, always about land.
When Europeans went the first time to Africa and never saw a black person before- running around half naked etc, they didn't believe they where human, perhaps half human. There was lots of land "laying dead". Europeans went to Africa to "make the land fruitful"- or tried to do so. Politics, greed and sadists turned good intentions nasty.
Same when Europeans came to the Americans.
Same with the USA in Europe now.
Same with the Mexicans coming to USA now.
Same with Americans wanting to stay Americans.
There is no where to go from here on except to other planets or fight each other for generations to come.
How can we stop negativ politics, greed and sadists?
Is it a human condition that can be taken under control?

Kaya, I think that's exactly what Dark Shadows, whose ancestors were here long before ours arrived, is saying.

I know I am a monster for writing this, and I know I've as much proof as the accusations in the below cited web site, but it is not proof that what was done was in error. Yes, there were children involved, and no, I don't put it past the enemy to use children to make gains to their ends. They use themselves to blow up children and kill their own, so why not use this crisis to castigate US? If our soldiers did such acts, then answer they will, but until that is done this simply feeds the revenge monster of hatred and justifies all manner of ends, most all of which are evil incarnate.
I am sorry to write so, but as we are grown folks some of whom have seen such atrocities as war, first hand, there is nothing given that is not beyond what we, as a species, are capable of doing. It is a shameful thing, but true. God help us all.
