Hello all,

I was hoping there might be some insight out there in Wacco-land. I've heard some great things in regards to cranial sacral therapy. I've also read some reviews which indicate that it is a waste of money. Any of you ever experienced cranial sacral therapy and if so, how was your experience?

Thanks for your time,
S

S,
Speaking as an Advanced CranioSacral Therapist with 15 years experience, it is definitely not a "waste of money." That being said, it is important to know what you are seeking help with, to know if CST would answer your needs.

People unfamiliar with CST frequently think of it, mistakenly, as simply a manipulation of the cranial and spinal bones. In fact, it is a facilitation of your own healing capabilities, and addresses not only cranial and spinal anatomy (membranes and fluids), but organs, fascia, muscles, DNA, energy meridians, chakras, and energy cysts (the remnants of negative emotional events still present in tissue memory). No manipulation is performed; the therapist is always following and assisting the inherent desire of the tissue to return to an original, balanced state, not imposing a preconceived structure on it.

I've successfully used CST with a huge range of issues, including brain and spinal cord injuries, visual and auditory problems, organ-related dysfunctions (digestive, reproductive, etc.), seizures, TMJ, migraines, to more obviously emotionally-related issues such as PTSD, depression, eating disorders, chronic fatigue, fears/phobias and stress-related problems.

And, as with any modality or tool, quality and efficacy of results are highly dependent on the experience level of the user.

Why are you interested in CST and what outcome might you be looking for through your inquiry?

Warmly,
Holly Berkley, COT, CBP

:hello:

I've had several cranial/sacral practitioners work with me, and they tell me I'm a receptive, good client. I relax and let go easily. They are able to get all my energies nicely balanced which, as a "double-Libra" I need help with. I have experienced my pulses in one side of my body being different from those in the other side, spaciness, "pools of pain" where the energy seems to 'get stuck' and doesn't flow nicely. Cranial/sacral seems to help all of this. Two or more of the practitioners I've seen also do Reiki, which can enhance the flow and healing energies. I believe it's all about intent and focus! It's very relaxing.

If you'd like a referral to a local practitioner, please contact me and I'll give you her name and number (if she's okay with that.)

Best Wishes,
