I am really sad to lose that place. Turns out they got the word last Friday. Just a couple days before I dropped off a application because I saw a hiring sign. Now this is a fine kettle of fish. At least there are 2 others i know of. One has a great selection and decent rates, but no video games, by "Whole Paycheck" and another near Sebastopol Hardware, that has a smaller selection, and carries Wii games. This economic downturn was supposed to be getting better, right?

I think the failure of Bradley Video is less about the economy and more about evolving technology. People can now download videos on their computers and other gadgets. Netflix and even fly-by-night sellers are not without their influence (by snail mail or by download). It's a tough row to hoe for the local movie/game rental businesses these days. Yet, some of them will survive anyway. The two you mentioned have very loyal customers and some interesting bonuses of membership. Plus, like newspapers, sometimes you just want to paw through the offerings!
