Hey Folks! Help! I am searching for a great place for my mother to move to. She wants to live in community with other seniors (but not necessarily exclusively). We have been looking at various independent and assisted living situations near Rohnert Park and in Santa Rosa, but would also consider West County if the situation was right.
After much soul searching she has thought that for a few years while her health is decent, she can live somewhat in her own space, but one meal a day provided would be great. She is such a nature lover that some view of the countryside is almost tantamount, and some space for gardening would be wonderful. A stilted rose garden does not count. She is mentally sharp and has a love of botany and languages and would need to be with people who are interested in things other than TV and popular culture. And at her age perhaps there ought to be a nurse on call.
We've looked at so many places, but now she thinks that perhaps a small community of good people would be the best. She would be a great asset to most any group, sez me.
It's very tricky to find the right situation. We have time, as she probably would not be ready until autumn, but I would appreciate any leads now so we can check it out. Thank you for any help in any direction.
