Last Tuesday night the City of Sebastopol City Council passed the Drive Less and Car-Free Day Resolution. Prepared by LITE/Car-Lite and edited by members of the City Council, it "supports the efforts of Car-Lite and other community groups encouraging residents to bike and walk when possible, plan trips carefully, carpool, rideshare, use public transit - in town and between towns." And "calls for a voluntary pledge of its residents to be car-free one or more days per month ..." I don't yet have the final language; will post it on here, on our blog and new website.
