Lately Ms. Palin has been going around the country speaking to large groups of supporters. I have one major problem with her speeches so far. She gets the crowds worked up with talk about all that is wrong with the present administration and so on. Granted, there are problems with EVERY administration. What concerns me is that she never states what her solutions are to our country's problems. A lot of "they do this and they do that", but never, so far, what she would do about these issues. Talk is ok to a point, but our leaders need to have a plan and act on it. I see no such plan coming out of her rallies.

The second issue is health care reform. I believe the Health Care Bill was acted on hastily. But we have to start somewhere. A lot of people blast the bill because it gives the government the right to dictate what procedures are allowed, etc. I don't know if this is true or not. But I do know that when I had skin cancer removed years ago, my private insurer at the time stated that the procedure was "cosmetic" and thus not covered. The procedure was eventually done after me paying out of pocket.

Personally I feel that every CITIZEN of this country has a right to at least basic health care irregardless of ability to pay. How we can attain this I do not know. But there has to be a way that the majority of the population can agree on....

Health care is available to ALL upon presenting to a hospital emergency room (with an imminently life-threatening medical condition.)

[note on Sarah Palin: To see a woman who has reached higher levels of accomplishment such as being a governor of a state (!!) writing on her hand boggles the mind... isn't that what 8 year-olds do?]

True about the emergency room but you still have to pay the full cost no matter whether you can afford to or not. The hospitals now will garnish your wages to recover their charges. I am talking about basic health care. Not necessarily life-threatening as in an annual check-up, health screening, etc, to possibly get help before it becomes life threatening. This, I feel, would be more cost effective.
