Just in case anyone cares about Nature's eternal (and wondrous) dance...
I was up at Lake Sonoma yesterday, checked out the steelhead hatchery and then up to the overlook where, another amazing gift from the Gods of Synchronicity, I looked out halfway across the lake and saw a big bird, whose picture I was able to take since providence had left me holding my camera. It appears to have been another mature bald eagle.
In the pix below, I was facing about 90 degrees to the right of where I took the bridge picture.]

Thank you so much. Years back we took out a canoe on Lake Sonoma and looked up to see a bald eagle. Great pictures and thank you for sharing them!

They have a nest on the west side of the Dry Creek arm of the lake, near the Cherry Creek arm. Signs are posted on the shoreline prohibiting people from entering the area.

In the pix below, I was facing about 90 degrees to the right of where I took the bridge picture.] Its amazing how fast nature rejuvenates its self.. im about 60 now, and when i was a kid, bald eagles were rare. Now adays in alaska their as about as rare as a pidgon.
