Hello Friend,

I was talking in my office the other day with a couple of people who wanted some help in publicizing the California Democracy Act. This initiative, if passed, would remove the super-majority requirement from all budget votes. A simple majority is all that is needed to pass.

Translation: It makes our state governable again.

Organizers need to gather signatures by April to get this qualified for the November ballot.

We are a commercial station, and we charge for ads, but for our community, for legislation that's a big deal, for protests, meetings and conventions that take on big issues, we will help your group promote these kinds of events, for free. No catch, no service charge, no shipping and handling!!

I was saying the other day that I was surprised that not that many people ask us to use our extensive on air and online community to help get the word out about events in the Bay Area.

So I'm asking; use us. We're here to help.

Find out about the California Democracy Act at green960.com.

a buget implies spending, if we agree on how much to spend, and can afford , no problem . the problem is the electors will vote themselfs into bankruptcy.
my evidence:
every 2 years in calif. we have elections that have spending propositions on the ballot,,,, to pass, these spending props need 2/3 majority.. if we look at the history of how many props gathered a majority but not a super majority2/3 we would soon realize that if those props had passed , we would have run out of money a long time ago. until we find a way to not vote ourselfs into bankruptcy we better stick with a super majority
