It is my pleasure to announce the following:

After consulting with both a non-profit lawyer and the Volunteer Center Of Sonoma Co. for Non-Profits, the board would like to once again invite vendors, crafts people, store owners, writers, and others, with goods and articles of the Pagan persuasion, to bring a limited number of their items to sell at some of the SCPN gatherings. In the past the SCPN had done this, but in the past few years it has fallen to the wayside. The board would like to implement this practice once again to both support our entrepreneurial members of the Pagan community and to help promote the SCPN at the same time.

The board has come up with guidelines for vending at SCPN gatherings and events. They are as follows:

1) Items must be part of or reflect in some way the Pagan community’s heritage, culture, various and diverse religious world views and practices.
2) All items must be of a nature that would be appropriate for the SCPN’s family and child orientated community.
3) No weapons of any kind: for example, but not limited to, guns, knives or swords. Photos and contact info for such items might be permitted on a case by case basis.
4) No alcohol, except for special cases and with board permission, such as Mead at Yule.
5) No drugs of any kind.
6) No open flames or other potentially dangerous items may be displayed.
7) No illegal items or substances of any kind will be permitted.

To become an approved vendor, a person will need to abide by the following requirements for approval for the safety and protection of the SCPN, it’s community members, and the vendors themselves:

1)Items to be sold must have prior board approval: Items to be sold, or photos of said items, must be presented to the board at a board meeting, either in person or via e-mail contact (if possible) of one of the board members, who can present on their behalf. Approval will be made by quorum vote of the board members.
2)5% of all gross sales will be paid to the treasurer of the SCPN, by the vendor, at the end of each gathering or event that vendor’s items are sold. A receipt will be given to the vendor at the time for the amount paid to the SCPN. Vendor is responsible for keeping their own sales records and receipts from the SCPN.
3)Vendor is responsible for all sales taxes, any other taxes, and insurance liabilities of the items they sell.
4)Vendor will sign an agreement to uphold prescribed selling etiquette and behavior while vending at any SCPN gathering or event.
5)Vendor will sign an agreement with the SCPN stating that they understand and agree to all the provisions stated above. Vendor will also agree that violating any of the above requirements and/or provisions are grounds to have a vendor’s ability and permission to sell at any SCPN gathering or event to been withdrawn by the board. Vendor will have the right to appeal to the board any time that their approval for vending has been withdrawn and/or denied.

Bright Blessings,
