The Alameda Police Department is working with the Federal Park Rangers (Point Reyes) in the
search for a missing person.

Katherine TRUITT was last seen at her residence by her room-mate, prior to Truitt's pickup truck
being located by Federal Park Rangers at McClures Beach, Point Reyes, in Marin County on
January 09, 2010. The pickup truck was still present on January 10, (Saturday) which led the Park
Ranger to begin an extensive search on Saturday and Sunday for the owner of the pickup (Truitt) .

The search included upwards of 80 people on foot and at sea. Search and rescue teams from
various jurisdictions were called in to conduct the search. The search and rescue team were unable
o locate Truitt. The surf at the time was high and very rough. Truitt was known to go on day trips to
he area of Point Reyes.

The family of Truitt formally made a missing persons report with Alameda PD on January 11, 2010
since Truitt is a resident of Alameda. Any person with information on Truitt
or were in or around McClures Beach at the time of her disappearance should contact the Alameda
PD at 510 337-8340. Turitt's was possibly wearing a blk windbreaker, same shirtlsweater(olive color)
as above, blk jeans, and blk Keen sport shoes. Her pickup is described as a 2003 Ford Ranger
pickup truck, tan in color, with a bed liner.
