Hi,
A good place to start is with the friendly people at the Sonoma County Chicken Chat group on Yahoo [email protected] (https://mail.google.com/mail/contacts/ui/ContactManager?js=RAW&maximize=true&hide=true&position=absolute&hl=en&emailsLink=true&sk=true&titleBar=false&border=NONE&eventCallback=ParentStub1263328386410&zx=t3xy7s89yjmz#)

There are a number of folks that have "Easter Eggers" as eggs to hatch, and possibly as pullets.

If you don't want to join, I can forward your email to a couple of people that may be able to help.

You might want to contact Dawn at Ranch Hag Hens. She has excellent chicks and provides outstanding support services. She has a good web site, too, ranchhaghens.com

i had good luck on craigslist. especially a woman names natasha in santa rosa and a man named ken in mill valley. they each had a selection of very healthy, beautiful hens of various breeds. hens raised by 4H families are especially friendly, i guess because they're used to being handled by children..

Western Farm Center in Santa Rosa always has a good selection of chicks (a few varieties) ducklings, goslings at various times in spring. They are housed in a separate room at the back of the store. Outside are adult chickens, ducks, bunnies, doves, etc. Good selection of all supplies you need and feeds and chicken houses (if you have the bucks!) but you can always look, get ideas, and construct your own! Good luck and watch out for hawks, owls, cats, raccoons, dogs -- the predators. If you ever adopt some turkey chicks -- they are very sensitive -- need more care than chicks + ducklings.

Frizelle & Enos started selling chicks yesterday. Then you can hand raise them. The bulletin board out front also will list layers.

do these websites pay Barry - you know the sites we have mentioned about the chickens?

because Barry does not ever allow me to list a website that is selling something. he deletes it immediately & edits my posts & controlls them.

im really surprised that these posts havnt been edited or deleted about mentioning a site where we can go buy chickens. i mean what if someone was affiliated with that site. mine were. but i wasnt making money off of sharing info. mine were about free bracelets to help our community.

im starting a new WEST COUNTY COMMUNITY FORUM.
one thats not controlled, limited, edited & requires payment.

ive had it & i only joined last friday.

Nobody here but us chickens!

A tangent to this thread. A few weeks ago I met a couple at Underwood and the female of the pair gave me the key words to her website: winecountrycoops (https://www.winecountrycoops.com/)

She's an architect who apparently designs chicken coops, among other things. She did mention her designs weren't cheap.

And Barry, regarding this commercial posting contretemps that has arisen. I hope you know what you're doing. Because according to the aggrieved party, in 2012, when the third dimension collapses and we are all launched into the fourth and fifth dimensions, well, I'll bet your ass will be grass as they say!!! Maybe you'll find some chickens in a chicken tractor to join...

Don't F with a Light Worker lest you be numbered among the "Dark Ones".....

(Is that a race thing?)

Bwaaaahhhaaaaahhhhhaaaaahhhhhaaaaaaaaa!!!!?

[not my post -- from craigslist --]

For Sale... We have 6 hens still laying (at least one egg each every other day-but usually one a day from each)

2 Black Australorps
2 White Araucanas (I think)
2 Rhode Island Reds

All of our girls are happy and healthy and are about 10 months old. They are on a diet of chicken scratch, egg maker crumble, oyster shell, and misc vegies and fruit. The two black australorps do have missing feathers on their rear ends. It started because a male mallard was protecting his female they have been separated and the feather should grow back shortly. We are asking $15 each or all 6 for $75. This is a great deal as they are all all still currently laying. Eggs are range from off white to a light brown in color.
