I've recently discovered the YUM Session band which plays live music for ecstatic dance. Highly Recommended, but no northern California shows are scheduled at the moment.
I'd like to put on a dance with them, but I'm having trouble finding a room with a stage and a decent dance floor for upto 200 people in Sonoma or Marin counties.
The Sebastopol community room would be good except for the floor. The Santa Rosa Vets hall is too big, Sebastopol vets sound sucks, Pickleweed and Mill Valley Community Center are too expensive.
Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Seems to me the Santa Rosa Vet's hall could be a good choice. Not sure what you mean by "too big"- maybe you feel that not enough people would show up and it would feel cavernous, sparse, or lacking in intimacy?
You might consider a couple contra-dance locations: Petaluma Women's Club or San Rafael Masonic Center.

Did anyone mention the Flamingo Hotel? Maybe you could do some "Creative financing" and trade for some advertising on WACCO.

Thanks for the replies, everybody!
I thought perhaps Monroe Hall was too small and/or not set up for live bands, but I am now looking into that. Thanks!
Santa Rosa Vet's main room is huge! (almost 10,000 square feet - I'm looking for more like 2,000 sqft). However the "dining room" is only 3,000 sqft, now that I calculate. Their spec sheet (https://www.sonoma-county.org/parks/HALLS/santa_rosa.htm) says the capacity for "dine/dance" is only 100, but I guess that includes tables for dinner. So that sounds promising!
The Sebastopol Vet's dining room also looks quite promising. Has anybody attended a music/dance event there?
The Flamingo was an interesting idea (thanks!), but the dance floor is fairly small, and its expensive.
I'm not familiar with the Sonoma Community Center or Vets hall. If possible, I'd like to stay in West County.
Somebody also mentioned https://www.thedanceroomsantarosa.com/which also looks promising.
The vets buildings and the dance hall don't have stages, which is not ideal.
Odd Fellows and Ner Shalom are also a possibilities, but they are (some) carpeted which is not ideal.
This may happen yet...! Stay tuned!
Thanks!

I wonder about the Jewish Community Center in Cotati, the old Cotati Cabaret? We did an event once at the Sebastopol Vets building twice. It's not bad at all, just dealing with the Vets Association period, there are a lot of requirements and regulations, and extra fees for little stuff that ads up. If your not using a vets building to do "food" as well, it can be less complicated. We've held events in both the Sebastopol Vets building AND the Santa Rosa Vets building so if you want any advise about either ask on. You're right about Santa Rosa Vets main Auditorium being monstrous, and the sound is tricky in there too, because of it and it can feel really empty if there aren't at least 500 people. The smaller dining room always looked attractive to me for a smaller event, but the stage there is kind of tiny. I've never rented Monroe, but I LOVE their dance floor.
I know it's not local but how about Beth Sholom in SF? I hear they have a really nice room with wood floors that holds up to 400 people
