Knowing this to be a very smart crowd, I'm posting this in hopes that someone will have SOME idea of what I should do.

I was hosting 2 web sites with a host called viperhost. I cancelled my account, but they won't give me the epps code, or any other help I need to move them to another host. All the other services I have called have said they have to have the epps code.

I am stumpted. And my old host won't even let me reopen my account! Thus I'm off the air so to speak!

Anyone with any advice? How to get my sites back up? I'll gladly pay someone to make this happen.

i recently had a domain registrar threaten to interfere with the functioning of a website when i objected to them charging my credit card without my permission.

i transferred my domain account to GoDaddy.com, but using another web company to host.

the situation you present sounds damn near un-workable - unless you have backups.

? #1: Do you have backups ?

with my recent transfer, there were 3 security codes needed to do the transfer. the "losing registrar" generated one of them; the "new/receiving registrar" generated 2 of them. all 3 are necessary to accomplish the transfer.

? #2: What is/are the name(s) of the managers at Viperhost that are not helping you ?

i ask that because it's possible they sit on a committee at ICANN or InterNIC, the 2 internet regulating bodies that i would suggest appealing this to.

i think Viperhost has a legal obligation to give you the transfer codes - but they don't have a legal obligation to maintain backups of your website, if you stopped paying them.
