On this special night we raise funds for friends in need, as well as local and international relief organizations. The school covers all of the event costs so that 100% of every dollar donated is directly distributed. At the same time, we celebrate our good fortune, our community of friends, some lovely food, and our dancing feet. Many people in our extended 5Rhythms family tell us the Holiday Benefit Dance is their favorite event of the year.
Last year we raised $13,000 during a joyous three hour evening. This year we hope to sprint right past that mark. Our collective gifts will:
provide hundreds of hot dinners at Glide Memorial Church
help build a hospital in rural Uganda
bring music and movement to inner city kids and elder programs
support a beloved community member with a life-threatening illnessWe are very excited to announce that Alón Sagee, a long-term member of our community and melodic master, will be filling the hall with his sublime DJ talent. Prepare to dance!
Raffle tickets will be on sale at classes and at Sweat Your Prayers for the next several weeks. You can buy a chance to win a free annual pass to Sweat Your Prayers (value: over $2000!), free workshops, and free classes. $5 per ticket or 5 tickets for $20.
We will also have a silent auction with lots of fun goods and services available.
This is a time when both need and hope are on the rise. Together, let's dance our hearts out, reach our hands out, and put spirit into action - Tuesday, December 8th at 7PM.
